  • Clinical Research on Jinyuan Decotion for 74 Cases of Primary Sjogren's Syndrome

    Objective To study the therapeutic effect and the immune regulation of Jinyuan Decoction(Decoction for dissolving damp and clearing heat to distribute body fluid) for primary Sjogren's syndrome(PSS).Methods Totally 124 PSS patients were di- vided into treatment group(74 cases) and control group(50 cases) randomly,and 24 healthy subjects enrolled as the healthy control group.The treatment group was treated with Jinyuan Decoction,and the control group treated with bromhexine.The course of treat- ment was two months.The immunoglobulin and T lymphocyte subgroup of two groups were detected before and after treatment for therapeutic effect comparison.Results Before treatment,the immunoglobulin of two groups was higher but the natural killing(NK) cell and CD_4 ratio lower than those of the healthy control group.After treatment,IgG,IgM and IgA of two groups were decreased to a different degree.The difference before and after treatment was significant in the treatment group(P<0.01).Both NK cell and CD_4 ratio of two groups ascended(P<0.05).CD_3 of the treatment group was lower than that of the control group after treatment(P<0. 05).The clinical relieve rate of treatment group was 68.92% and the control group 26%.The total effective rate was 97.3% in the treatment group and 72% in the control group.The comparison was significant(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion The effect of Jinyuan Decoction is remarkable for PSS.

  • Effect of Tianma Gouteng Decoction and Captoprii on Blood Pressure and Inflammatory Factor in Patients with Essential Hyperten-sion

    Objective To investigate the effect of Tianma Gouteng Decoction and Captopril on blood pressure and its mechanism in the senile patients with essential hypertension(EH) in the pattern of ascendant liver yang.Methods Eighty cases with EH were ran- domly divided into two groups,with 40 cases in each group.Treatment group was given Tianma Gouteng Decoction and Captopril and the control group was given only Captopril.The treatment was lasted for 4 weeks.Observed were the changes in blood pressure and serum hs-CRP,TNF-αand IL-6.Results There was significant difference in blood pressure change and improvement of clinical symptoms after treatment between the two groups.The level of serum hs-CRP,TNF-αand IL-6 decreased significantly in the treat- ment group.Conclusion Tianma Gouteng Decoction and captopril can decrease blood pressure and serum hs-CRP,TNF-αand IL-6, and the effect was superior to captopril simply.

  • Influence of Herbal Medicines with the Function of Replenishing Qi and Essence on the Immune Function of Patients after Mamma-ry Cancer Operation

    Objective To observe the effect of herbal medicines with the function of replenish qi and essence for the immune func- tion of patients after mammary cancer operation.Methods The 115 patients of mammary cancer after modified radical operation were randomized into treatment group and control group.The treatment group began to take the decoction of herbal medicines from 7 days before and from the 3rd day after operation.The control group had the same treatment but without taking herbal medicines.The im- mune indices of both groups were tested on the day 7 days before,one day and 14 days after operation respectively.Results In the treatment group,IgA,IgG,IgM were remarkably increased in comparison with the control group 14 days after operation;with the herbal treatment for 2 weeks,CD_4,CD_4/CD_8,IL-2 rised remarkably(P<0. 05);after operation TNF-αrised remarkably,and 2 weeks later,it restored to the level of before operation,while those of control group maintain high level.Conclusion The herbal medicines are helpful in restoring the humoral and cellular immunity of mammary cancer patients after operation.

  • Clinical Observation on Hydrargyrum Oxydatum Crudum Medicinal Twist Filling-Extubation plus Hanley Technique for Treating 69 Cases of High Position U-shaped Anus Fistula

    Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of hydrargyrum oxydatum crudum medicinal twist filling-extubation plus Hanley technique for high position u-shaped anus fistula.Methods hydrargyrum oxydatum crudum medicinal twist filling-extubation plus Hanley technique was adopted for 69 cases,and the control group(68 cases)was treated with Hanley technique only.Observed were therapeutic effect,changes of symptoms and signs after operation,score of complications,healing time of both groups.Results The clinical curative rate of treatment group and control group was 94.20% and 82.35% respectively.The difference was of signifi- cance(P<0.05).The scores of external secretion,internal secretion,remaining abscess,remaining induration,and accumulated blood in the residual cavity in the treatment group were all superior to those of the control group with the significant difference(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion Hydrargyrum oxydatum crudum medicinal twist filling-extubation plus Hanley technique is a re- markable and side-effect free therapy for high position u-shaped anus fistula.

  • Clinical Observation on 45 Cases of Depression Treated by Soothing Stagnation and Invigorating Blood Circulation

    Objective To observe the therapeutic effect of the method of soothing liver qi stagnation and invigorating blood circula- tion to remove stasis for depression.Methods Totally 90 depression cases were randomized into treatment group and control group with 45 in each.The treatment group was given modified Xiaoyao Powder(Powder for liver qi stagnation with blood stasis) based on the principle of soothing liver qi stagnation to remove stasis.The control group was given Fluoxetine.The course of treatment was 8 weeks in all.Self-rating Depression Scale(SDS),Hamilton Depression Scale(HAMD),Treatment Emergent Symptom Scale (TESS) and scores of TCM symptoms before and after treatment were recorded for comparison.Results SDS,HAMD,TESS and TCM symptoms were improved after treatment in the treatment group(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The untoward reaction was obviously lower in the treatment group than that of control group(P<0.01).Conclusion The effect of soothing liver qi stagnation and invig- orating blood circulation to remove stasis for depression is remarkcble,safe and side effect less.

  • Clinical Research on 216 Cases of Obese Diabetics of TypeⅡwith Feitangluo Holistic Treatment Model

    Objective To compare the effect for decreasing blood glucose(BG) and reducing body weight on obese diabetics of typeⅡwith Feitangluo"Holistic Treatment"and traditional TCM therapy for Xiaoke(diabetes),and to evaluate clinical application range, untoward reaction and safety.Methods The 216 obese diabetics of typeⅡwere randomized into two groups,the treatment group treated by Holistic Treatment and the control group by Liuwei Dihuang Capsule(Capsule of Six Ingredients with Rehmannia).The treatment lasted 12 weeks,and body weight index(BWI),waist/hip ratio(WHR),fasting blood glucose(FBG) and BG 2h after meal were observed.Results In the treatment group,the effective rate in decreasing BG was 74.1% and in losing weight 81.5%.In the control group,the effective rate in decreasing BG was 42.6% and in losing weight 30.1%.The difference was significant(P<0.05). There was no untoward reaction seen in both groups.Conclusion Holistic Treatment is safe and effective.Its prescription modifica- tion accords with the law based on TCM syndrome differentiation on diabetes,applicable for diabetes typeⅡwith obesity.

  • Observation on the Effect of Acupoint Injection for Sensorineural Hearing Loss and Tinnitus

    Objective To compare the therapeutic effect of acupoint injection with different medicines for sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL) and tinnitus.Methods Totally 93 patients with SNHL and tinnitus were divided randomly into three groups:never growth factor(NGF) group with 64 patients in it,Vitamin B_(12) group with 61 patients in it,and control group with 62 patients in it.Based on the routine treatment,the NGF group was treated by acu point injection with NGF,the vitaminB_(12) group by acu point injection with vitaminB_(12),and the control group by vitaminB_(12) intramuscular injection.Results The total effective rate of NGF group was 77.59 %,of vitaminB_(12) group 55.56%,and of control group 37.74%.The effect of NGF group was obviously better than other two groups (P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint injection is effective for SNHL and tinnitus,the effect of acupoint injection with NGF is especially good.

  • Effect of Electro-acupuncture at Shangjuxu (ST 37) on Interleukin-1βand lnterleukin-4 of Ulcerative Colitis Rat Models

    Objective To observe the effect of electro-acupuncture at Shangjuxu(ST 37) on interleukin-1 (IL-1β) and interleukin- 4 (IL-4) of ulcerative colitis(UC) rat models to study its functional mechanism.Methods The 40 male Wistar rats were randomly divided into four groups:normal group,model group,Shangjuxu(ST 37) group,non-aeupoint group,with 10 in each.The UC mod- els were made with trinitrobenzene sulphoneacid(TNBS) enema to observe the quantitative changes of IL-1βand IL-4 after electro- acupuncture at Shangjuxu(ST 37).Results The electro-acupuncture at Shangjuxu(ST 37) made the quantity of IL-1βof colic tis- sues of UC rat models decreased obviously,the quantity of IL-4 increased obviously,compared with model and non-acupoint groups, the difference was significant(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Conclusion The electro-acupuncture at Shangjuxu(ST 37) is effective for UC rat models,its functional mechanism may be involved in decreasing IL-1β,the inflammatory inducing factor,and increasing IL-4, the anti-inflammatory factor.

  • Analysis on the Combination Characteristics of TCM Syndromes of 138 Cases with Coronary Heart Disease

    Objective To study the TCM syndrome characteristics and pathogenesis of coronary heart disease.Methods The 168 in-patients were examined by coronary arteriography and the syndrome differentiation was made for diagnosis of coronary heart disease or not.Results Of the 138 patients of coronary heart disease,the blood stasis syndrome(92.0%) and qi deficiency syndrome (81.9%)were most common,and their existing rate was obviously higher than that of the non-coronary heart disease group(P<0.05).There was no significant difference in the composition of TCM syndromes in the angina group and acute myocardial infarction group(P>0.05).Coronary heart disease took the combination of three syndromes as the most common pathologic condition,while qi deficiency and blood stasis were the basic combination of syndromes.Conclusion Qi deficiency and blood stasis are the basic patho- genesis of coronary,heart disease.

  • Relation of Apolipoprotein E Gene Polymorphism and Qishen Yiqi Droplet in Treatment of Coronary Heart Disease of Qi Deficiency with Blood Stasis Syndrome

    Objective To study the relation between apolipoprotein E(ApoE) gene polymorphism and the effect of Qishen Yiqi Droplet(Droplet mainly containing Huangqi and Danshen for Reinforcing Qi) for qi deficiency with blood stasis syndrome of coronary heart disease.Methods The 49 patients conformed to the diagnosis standard of coronary heart disease were treated with Qishen Yiqi Droplet for one month.The white blood cell DNA was extracted from the blood sample and the 4th exon of ApoE gene was tested for finding its polymorphism locus with sequencing.Results Two significant mutable sites were noticed:the mutation of the 2888th site was remarkably related to the therapeutic effect of shortness of breath and general lassitude while that of the 2903rd site to the thera- peutic effect of chest pain and spontaneous sweating.Conclusion ApoE gene polymorphism was related to the effect of qi deficiency with blood stasis syndrome of coronary heart disease treated by,Qishen Yiqi Droplet.

  • Effect and Mechanism of Yinchen Wuling Powder on Atherosclerosis Rats

    Objective To study the effect and mechanism of Yinchen Wuling Powder(Powder of Oriental Wormwood and Five Herbs with Poria) on atherosclerosis(AS) rats.Methods Totally 70 Wistar rats were randomized into normal group, model group, Yinchen Wuling Powder group, and Gypenosides group.The AS models were made by feeding greasy food for producing AS plague in aorta.The serum lipid,blood rheology,uhrastructure of aorta tissues,and bcl-2 mRNA expression of VSMC were tested after one month to see the changes.Results Yinchen Wuling Powder could obviously decrease the total cholesterol,triglyceride,and low den- sity lipoprotein cholesterol;increase the high density lipoprotein cholesterol;reduce the blood viscosity,packed cell volume,and platelet adhesion rate;maintain the aorta structure;and lower the bcl-2mRNA expression.The effect was better than that of Gypeno- sides.Conclusion Yinchen Wuling Powder has a significant effect on AS and its functional mechanism may lie in lowering the bcl-2 mRNA expression.

  • Effect of Quyu Xiaoban Capsule on Hyperlipemia Rabbits with Arteriosclerosis Clots

    Objective To observe the effect of Quyu Xiaoban Capsule(Capsule for removing blood stasis and eliminate clots) on the development of arteriosclerosis(AS) clots and lipid sediment of rabbit models.Methods The 45 AS rabbit models were divided into Chinese medicine group,western medicine group,and control group.The serum oxidized low density lipoprotein (ox-LDL),low den- sity lipoprotein cholesterol(LDL-C),high density lipoprotein cholesterol(HDL-C),total cholesterol(TG),triglyceride(TG),and the HDL-C/LDL-C were tested to examine the lipin deposition area in the clots.Results After medication, the density of serum ox- LDL,LDL-C,TC and TG was obviously lowered,while HDL-C/LDL-C obviously raised(P<0.05 or P<0.01).Compared with the control group,the changes of all indices were significant(P<0.05 or P<0.01).The lipin deposition area of the Chinese and western medicine groups observed with the microscope was obviously smaller than that of the control group.Conclusion Quyu Xiaoban Cap- sule can correct the blood fat abnormality,reduce the lipid sediment of clots,having remarkable effect in regulating fatmetablism.
